Make YouTube boring again.

I Just Wanted One Video

So I built a Chrome extension that makes YouTube boring on purpose. You open YouTube to watch one video.
Then the homepage pulls you in.
Then the comments.
Then recommendations.
Then somehow it has been almost an hour.
This extension removes the distracting parts and leaves the video.
Nothing more.
Watch what you came for. Leave when you are done.[Add to Chrome]

The Problem

YouTube is not broken.
It is doing exactly what it is designed to do
.
The homepage is built to keep you scrolling.
The comments are built to keep you engaged.
The recommendations are built to keep you watching.
That is great for YouTube.
Not great for your focus.
Blocking YouTube entirely does not work if you use it for learning.
What you really want is YouTube without the noise.

What This Chrome Extension Does

This extension removes only the parts that waste your time.- Removes homepage videos
- Removes recommended videos
- Removes the comments section
- Prevents endless scrolling
You still get:The video you searched for
The player and controls
Subtitles and playback speed
A clean way to learn and leave
YouTube becomes a tool instead of a trap.

How It Feels and Why It Exists

This does not feel restrictive or heavy.
It feels like relief.
You open a video.
You watch it.
You close the tab.
There is no pull to scroll, no comment rabbit hole, no sudden urge to click “just one more.”I built this because I kept losing time without noticing. I use YouTube a lot for learning, but the moment I landed on the homepage or scrolled into comments, my focus was gone.Blocking YouTube completely did not work because I still needed it.This is for people who want YouTube to be useful, not addictive.
For people who go there to learn something and leave.
For people who have said “I just wanted one video” more times than they can count.
It does not try to fix your habits.
It just removes the parts that break them.

Permissions and Privacy (The Boring but Important Part)

This extension only wakes up when you are on YouTube. It needs permission to access youtube.com so it can do exactly one thing: hide the parts that steal your time, like comments, the homepage feed, and recommended videos. That is it.It Does NOT:- Read your personal data
- Track what you watch
- Follow you around the internet
- Access your accounts or passwords
- Inject ads, trackers, or affiliate links
I do not want your data.
I do not know what you watch.
I do not want to know.
I Just Wanted One Video does not collect, store, or send any data anywhere. There is no tracking, no analytics, no data selling, and no external requests.Everything happens locally in your browser, on your device, quietly doing its job.No accounts. No servers. No funny business. If this ever changes, this page will be updated clearly. No fine print tricks.Disclaimer:This extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.This extension simply modifies how pages are displayed in your browser.
